Bahadır Yıldız’s 6th solo exhibition at Gallery Apel is centered on sculptures constructed around orthopedic shoe lasts made for different types of feet. At first glance the objects merely look like shoe lasts, but in the artist’s world they have actually undergone transformation in terms of form and concept.

This transformation manifests itself thanks to scrap, sawdust, wooden objects, and pieces of wood which come together to form Yıldız’s sculptures. But these sculptures do not merely convey how shoe lasts are reflected in the artist’s world; by adding the element of time through the marks on the wood, these structures based on flawed feet also make reference to the “inner weave” of the human being.
