The year 2006, Selma Gürbüz's 20th year of art, is celebrated with a series of personal exhibitions in Europe's two distant places. The first one takes place in Paris, at the Gallery Maeght with the subtitle of ''Feline'. With 20 great masterpieces, a small size of canvas and a few sculptures; an album, which consists of 16 original lithographs, is going to be out around 100 copies; with the company of the text of the French art historian and art critic Gilbert Lascault.

While this exhibition continues until the 6th of May, on the 27th of April begins Gürbüz's exhibition in Istanbul. This exhibition which is presented with the subtitle of 'Feline II' has the quality of the artist's 20 years of experience and is the continuation of her previous exhibitions at the gallery 'Apel', which were 'Karaname', 'Yunname' and 'The Djynn and the Fairy'.Selma Gürbüz thinks of her 20th year exhibitions' plots as a research on the combination of Eastern and Western art, following each other. Although her works have an inspiration of Eastern and Western history of art, the artist's rich, imaginary world is noticed greatly and plays a great role in her work.The exhibition that will include her sculptures and large canvasses will be presented during May at the gallery Apel.The summary of the exhibition will take place on the first floor of the gallery during June.
