The relationship between subject and material has always had an important place for Gallery Apel, ever since it opened 15 years ago. This exhibition, entitled “On ‘the Kitchen’”, suggests a process in which necessity is transformed into production and products into images.

Since its first exhibition ‘Palate’, Gallery Apel has always included the relationship between art and food in its themes and continues its kitchen-like attention to delicious new combinations in its nurturing warmth. Making an association with the stove, which is an appliance of such importance in the kitchen, for this exhibition Apel has specifically chosen the month of January – in Turkish Ocak; which is the same word used for stove.
